If, like us, you have spent most of the summer snatching moments of sunshine on London’s various rooftops, imagine a world where you could enjoy your very own rooftop space – complete with river views – all of your own. This dream is a reality for buyers at Chelsea Waterfront, where Morpheus London completed on a full turnkey scheme of the penthouse back in May.
Alongside the sublime outdoor terrace, the top floor of the penthouse has been transformed into a stunning ‘Garden Room’ – an oasis of serenity and tranquillity overlooking London’s Lots Road Power Station and the River Thames. A true expression of the concept ‘bringing the outside in’, this room can be used all the year round – come rain or shine – making it ideal for the city’s unpredictable weather.
Acting as a multi-function leisure and entertaining space the Garden Room features two rope lounge beds bespoke made by Morpheus set against a green faux plant wall. The hanging beds flank a sweeping seating area perfect for watching the television housed within the custom-made joinery unit or enjoying a cold beverage from the bespoke bar. The addition of a rowing machine completes the space.
Elsewhere in the apartment, the team drew on the sky for inspiration, playing with bird and cloud motifs – such as those seen on the bespoke rugs – alongside organic shapes and a sense of transparency. Clouds and sunsets also inspired the colour palette, with its mix of silver, grey, blue and gold. Elements influenced by the neighbouring Lots Road Power Station also run throughout the design, including a bespoke coffee table with legs that mimic the landmark’s chimneys.
