Dambusters Dinner

The Dambusters Dinner was a fantastically glamorous evening and a huge success, raising approximately £150’000 for the RAF Benevolent Fund! 300 guests traveled from all over the World to attend including high ranking Military personnel and celebrities such as Simon Shaw MBE, Simone Webbe, Mark-Francis Vandelli and Brian Blessed OBE who led the all important charity auction.

Highlights of the evening included a drinks reception with sumptuous cocktails and champagne suppled by Hatt et Sonner after the guests were greeted at the door by a stunning Aston Martin Vanguish 5. Guests enjoyed a video message from the last surviving Dambusters Airman - Squadron Leader George Johnson, as well as speeches and readings from a wealth of RAF personnel such as Air Chief-Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier and Air Vice-Marshal David Murray.

The delicious 3-course dinner began with a duck liver parfait starter with cured duck ham and umeboshi plum. The main was a braised blade of beef, carrot and swede puree, steamed potato and onion pudding with beer pickled onions followed by a sweet treacle tart with Cornish clotted cream, sherry vinegar syrup and candied zest for dessert.

Live entertainment was integrated throughout the evening including performances from magician Lance Corporal Richard Jones, electric string quartet Escala, jazz singer Jeanie Barton and the RAF band.

This amazing event was kindly sponsored by Galliard Homes, Cain International, Aston Martin and Global Worth. In attendance also were The Telegraph Group editor, City AM / Daily Mirror, Daily Express and Spear’s Wealth. We would like to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who attended, bid, donated or got involved in any other way and a fantastic amount of money was raised for a very special cause.
